WEB PRESENCE
I wish I knew what this really means. I know it's not just having a website and joining Facebook or MySpace. I'm going to go off
the edge here and assume that having an actual web presence is trying to get people to actually COME to your website and to
actually LOOK at your Facebook page. The question really is, how to do that?
Well, from what I already do - I have joined writing forums, such as Absolutewrite.com and Writersdigest.com and every post I
have has a link to this website at the bottom of it. I make sure that each page of this site has good keywords associated with it
so that it's found in the major search engines. This page is also linked to my Facebook page, so that whoever sees me on there
can find me here. Whenever I write something that goes into a magazine or an anthology, I also make sure my website is
posted in my author bio. This is what I already do, and with that, I get about 10 - 12 hits on my website a day. That isn't much, so,
I'm thinking, what can I do to increase that?
And this is where I'm stuck. So, after I do my updates to the site today, I'm going to start looking through some books and some
other author blogs to see what I can do to increase my "web presence". Once I have the answers, I will certaintly post them here.
