SCHOOL VISITS
I've still been looking into doing school visits, but this is one thing that people seem to not have a wealth of information on. I
have even queried on a couple of the writing forums I frequent, and no one seems incredibly forthcoming with information that
can help me.
So, what I'm going to do, is give a go at it myself. I created a brochure, back when I began promoting that I haven't done anything
with yet, and I believe I am going to update. I am going to use this brochure to send out to schools, so it is going to have, not
only a brief author bio and info on my book, but also what services I could provide to the school. Because, let's face it, I'm not
just going to stand in front of a group of students and read from a book. I doubt I could hold their interest for that long doing just
that.
So, my idea would be to do a brief workshop with the kids, in which they would create a character, and a funny situation and then
actually have to write a story about it. That and put a picture up on the board for the students, and then let them create a whole
story about what led up to that picture.
This is what I'm up to through this weekend, and since I'm likely not going to have internet for a couple of days again, I'll see you
in a few.
