A PROMISE KEPT
As I said, when I finished the bookmark, I would post it, so here it is. I make it a
point that everytime I start a novel, I have the characters drawn by an artist. I do
this so that I can hang the artwork in my office to look at and sort of inspire me
while I write the novel. I also do it because I am a fanboy and having an actual
comic book artist draw my very own characters is more thrilling than can be
described. So, I had the artwork already done, and so, for the temporary
bookmark, I decided to use it. Once I get the actual cover image, that will replace
that artwork.
The hardest part was coming up with the summary of the book. Not only did I
have to rewrite my summary, but I had to include as much information as I could
on a single side of a bookmark. No easy task, I assure you. But as you can see,
I managed. So, if you are going to create a bookmark, this is how to do it.
It's very simple, and none too flashy. If I possessed more artistic ability, it would
have a bit more flair to it, but since I'm a writer and not an artist, this is how it's
going to be. I mean, this was free. If you want, there are any number of places
out there that will create and print bookmarks or brochures or anything else,
you want to use for promotion. But remember, that's going to eat into whatever
profit you hope to make off your book. As long as your bookmark gets the point
across, consider it a success.
