AND SO, THE MARATHON BEGINS
Okay, I have a pretty busy schedule coming up starting this very weekend. I have just gotten back from the D.C. National Book
Festival, and let me tell you, I am exhausted. The funny thing is, I’m this drained, and I haven’t even been selling books today. All
I did was walk around, collected free stuff and free information. For example, there is a book festival in Antigua in November I
had no clue about – not that I will be going this year of course, but it’s good to know for the future.
So, the National Book Festival, held right in front of the Smithsonian Museums on the National Mall, was a great deal of fun. We
got out pictures taken and embedded on the Festival poster. I'm posting it on this page once I scan it into my computer, mainly
because, even though it isn't a very good picture of me, I think it fits just who I am and how I feel on most days. Always do I have
some character looking over my shoulder wondering when I am going to read or write about them, and that's exactly what the
poster conveys.
We also got to speak to people from every state in the USA and beyond, and got some really cool stuff. An extra added bonus
was, I was able to market myself a little bit, just by talking to a few people.
The only downside to the day was that it was so very hot. The thermometer must have topped off at nearly 100 degrees, which is
probably why I’m so tired. But, we must take the weather as it comes.
So, as I said, the marathon begins. I’m going to several book festivals, book stores, and vendor shows between now and
Thanksgiving. Pretty much, I have at least one thing every single weekend between now and then. So, I’ll pretty much be working
7 day work weeks from now until then. It’s a scary thought, but we do what we must.
The marathon kicks off tomorrow with the Baltimore Book Fest. They promise people in the tens of thousands, so I should be
able to do well. And it is supposed to be much cooler than today, so that will be a plus. I just hope the rain holds out. Anyway,
another update for you tomorrow, all about Baltimore Book Festival!
Until next time - Just have a nice day!
