I'M BACK
I've taken a few months off from the website, and I shouldn't have. However, like anyone else, we writers do need to take a break
every once in a while. However, by taking a break, it doesn't mean that I haven't been doing anything.
These last four months have been spent on a number of projects. I am almost finished with my first draft of High School
Heroes: Book 3, and I should hopefully have that finished by the end of April. I have also been working on the graphic novel
version of High School Heroes: Book 1. It has been going great and I've gotten very positive reviews on it, won some awards for
the work done so far, and have gotten my monthly views up to around 10,000 per month. And let me tell you, trying to get page
hits on the comic is almost like a full time job in and of itself.
My biggest efforts for getting the page views were when WeVolt.com was running their Lord of the Rumble contest (which, by the
way, High School Heroes won with a landslide victory), and I was working at getting people to view it (as was my loving, beautiful
wife) for several hours every evening. We posted links of Facebook. Visited the writing forums I usually post on, hitting people up
by email, and just sending, sending sending. The efforts continue, but have since slowed down so that I only have to do it for
about an hour each day, which does leave more time to write (THANK GOD!)
The other thing I haven't done, since my last update, has been any events. It's not because I've been lazy. But I have noticed, and
maybe it's just the area I live in, but no one seems to hold many events in the winter. Especially after Christmas, there really
aren't any book festivals or craft fairs until around this time. So, for months, I've also been preparing to go back on tour, which
starts this weekend (tomorrow, in fact).
Tomorrow is the VA Festival of the Book, and I'm kind of excited about it. There should be plenty of people there that actually
want to buy books. The press and hype this festival has been getting in my area has been huge, so I really believe this one will
be good.
So, next update will be Sunday. Until then, here's how my sales have been going over the last four months.
